Most successful companies start out with a dream and are built with years of hard work and determination.  Premier Tool is no exception.

Our founder, Jerry Hoskins, started Premier Tool in 1987 with one Mitsubishi 90C wire EDM machine in a leased space that was barely big enough for the machine, a work table, a file cabinet and a desk.  Two years later he broke ground for our existing facility and we began our journey to what Premier Tool is today.

We’re located in Cornelius, NC next to Lake Norman and nearly within sight of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.  Cornelius is just north of the vibrant Charlotte, NC area and in the middle of the I-85 manufacturing corridor that extends from the high tech North Carolina Research Triangle in Winston-Salem to the booming heavy manufacturing hub of Greenville, SC.  Being part of this high octane manufacturing region has provided PT with a solid customer base and decades of continuous growth.

Our customers include companies who are automotive suppliers, bearing manufacturers, industrial machinery manufacturers, military suppliers, consumer product manufacturers, industrial supply manufacturers, NASCAR racing teams, and leading companies in the power generation industry.

Like many successful family businesses, the hand off of Premier Tool’s management from one generation to the next was a slow process that took much time.  In 2011, after working together for twelve years, Jerry passed the reins onto Diane Hoskins and she took over the day to day operations of the business as he moved into retirement.  In 2016, Diane became the majority shareholder and Premier Tool became a certified Woman Owned Business. Under her leadership, Premier Tool continues to grow, build the dream, and make the journey that began thirty years ago.
